How to Adopt

At Wild Strides, our mission is to promote and advocate for the American Mustang through education, community outreach and rescue efforts. We are dedicated to raising awareness of the significance of these remarkable horses and championing their value as a part of our nation’s heritage. Through re-homing, advocacy and partnerships, we strive to ensure that Mustangs have the opportunity to thrive and inspire future generations.

Each adoption fee is based on how much care and treatment went into rescuing that specific horse. These fees are also based on things such as, if the horse is trained to ride, registration, temperament, and the horse’s age. When the adopter is approved and has agreed to adopt said horse(s), all adoption fees are due and must be paid.

Adopting a Mustang is a commitment that one would be making for the remainder of their life. When treated properly horses typically live to be 35 years of age or even older. Please keep in mind that we want each of our Mustangs to find a loving home in which they are properly cared for.

We greatly appreciate your interest in our Adoption Program. Our adoptions are based on a first come, first served basis, depending on the application requirements being met. Upon completion of the application and contract, we will contact you to inform you if your application has been approved. We will provide you with a list of the horses available for adoption. Your application will remain on file with us until you have chosen a horse to adopt.

Below you’ll find a list of our current horses, Adoption fees will be updated as horses are ready to go on to their new homes. If interested in a horse that does not have an adoption fee listed please reach out to us. We will reserve a horse if we feel the home is the right choice for them.
